Eggert Adam Knuth

Eggert Adam Knuth-Knuthenborg (born April 19, 1901 , † November 26, 1980 ) was a Danish liege count and diplomat.

Life

Eggert Adam Knuth was the son of Henrich Knuth and his wife Elisabeth, née Vind († 1961). In 1919 he took up his law degree. In 1925 Knuth graduated as cand. Jur., In the same year he became consular secretary and vice-consul in Sydney . In 1926 Knuth became secretary in the Foreign Ministry . From 1935 to 1936 he was Legation Secretary in Reykjavik . In 1936 he became legation secretary in London and in 1942, at the request of the Germans, had to resign from the diplomatic service. In 1951 he was counselor in London. In 1952 he became envoy. In 1956 he became ambassador to Reykjavik, 1961 to Brussels and at the same time envoy to Luxembourg . In 1964 he became ambassador to Luxembourg.

On December 14, 1934, Knuth married Countess Lily Ingeborg Agnes Rantzau (* 1906). The marriage remained childless.
