Egon Müller (born March 28, 1938 in Frankenholz ) is a German criminal defense attorney and legal scholar .

Life

After graduating from secondary school in Homburg , Müller studied law at the Saarland University and the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In 1961 he passed the first state law examination and in 1965 the second. He did his doctorate in Saarbrücken in 1966 on the educational success of juvenile punishment of indefinite duration .

From 1961 to 1970 he worked in Saarbrücken as an assistant at Gerhard Kielwein 's Criminological Institute . Since 1970 he has been working as a lawyer in the Saarbrücken law firm Rodenbüsch-Heimes (now Heimes & Müller ), of which he was partner from 1971 to 2003. In addition, he was scientifically active at the University of Saarland and was appointed honorary professor for criminal law and criminal procedure law in 1987.

Müller's work focuses on commercial and tax criminal law , environmental criminal law and medical criminal law . Müller was involved in the Herstatt trials and also defended Otto Graf Lambsdorff in the Flick affair , Joachim Funk in the Mannesmann trial and Peter Hartz in the VW affair , among others .

The Saarland Justice Minister Ingeborg Spoerhase-Eisel appointed him on March 28, 2003 to the judiciary . With "his reputation, which he has acquired as a national defense lawyer, [...] he contributed significantly to the external reputation of the Saarland".
