The Egrissi Mountains ( Georgian ეგრისის ქედი ) is a part of the Great Caucasus , which extends south of its main ridge in a west-east direction.
The Egrissi Mountains are located in the regions of Ratscha-Letschchumi and Lower Vanetia and Mingrelia and Upper Vanetia in the north of Georgia . It forms the watershed between the Enguri (in the north and west) and the Tcheniszqali (in the east). The right-hand Zcheniszqali tributary Cheledula separates the mountains from the north-east running Svaneti Mountains . The Egrissi Mountains in the Zjekuri reach a maximum height of 3173 m .
Deciduous forest grows on the mountain slopes - mainly oak and beech. From an altitude of 2000 m you can find subalpine and alpine vegetation.
