The former general superintendent on Bruchstrasse is a listed building in Detmold in the Lippe district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

History and architecture

In 1802, the dilapidated Wehmhof was demolished and the new building was erected as the first rectory of the Reformed community (formerly Vitus, now the Church of the Redeemer ).

The two-storey, rectangular building in classicist construction is a plastered building with ashlar structure . The northern front is divided by nine window axes, the middle three are part of a risalit with a flat triangular gable . The roof is designed as a half-hip roof . The courtyard entrance to Bruchstrasse is flanked by two gate pillars.

Gate in the old quarry stone wall

Large parts of the old quarry stone wall of the Wehmhof are still preserved and are part of the monument. A gate in the east to the street Unter der Wehme contains a stone with the year 1695 as the upper end. Remains of the previous building are no longer visible, but still present in the floor. These are entered as ground monuments in the list of monuments.

From 1805 the house served as the home and workplace of Ferdinand Weerth ; his sons, including Georg Weerth , grew up here.
