The former guard house is a building in Egelsbach in the Offenbach district in Hesse .
Architecture and history
The former guardhouse of the local police is an example of the now rarely preserved type of guardhouse, which is usually equipped with a column front and detention room - as is also the case in Mühlheim am Main - for the southern Hessian area since the late 18th century.
A special feature in this case is the connection of the probably older cellar with the loggia-like structure made of quarry stone masonry and a wooden structure.
The tiled pent roof of the guardhouse indicates the former rear buildings.
The front of the now free-standing building is a characteristic element of the center of Egelsbach.
The former guard house is a cultural monument for architectural and local historical reasons .
