Ehrenkrook is the name of a Swedish- German noble family .

history

His lineage begins with Peder Olofsson Krook , who was first documented in 1600. The son Olof Pederson Krook (1660–1682) was enfeoffed as treasurer of the Royal Swedish Chamber of Accounts in Södermanland . His son, Johan Krook received the Swedish nobility with the name Ehrenkrook in 1682 and was introduced to the nobility class (No. 1010) of the Swedish knighthood . His son Johan Gustaf Ehrenkrook (1686–1750) was a colonel in the service of Brunswick . This, like his descendants, used the name of Ehrenkrook without objection, according to the German practice . This German line currently continues. Another brother of the aforementioned, who died childless, the Swedish Lieutenant General Carl Ehrenkrook (1696–1781) was raised to the status of Swedish baron in 1772 . With this the Swedish line in the male line is extinguished.
