Ehrhardt Bödecker

Ehrhardt Bödecker (born April 21, 1925 in Zwickau , Free State of Saxony , † December 6, 2016 in Berlin ) was a German lawyer, banker , historian , author and museum founder.

Life

Ehrhardt Bödecker studied law, economics and history in Berlin and the USA and was later a local judge , administrative judge and lawyer . Since 1966 he was the successor to his father-in-law Hans Weber, head of Weberbank in Berlin. In 1995 he retired.

Brandenburg-Prussia Museum

As an author, Bödecker was especially known for his works on Prussian history. The Brandenburg-Prussia Museum in Wustrau , which he designed and in which he invested 6.7 million euros from his own resources, opened in September 2000. On October 13, 2013, he handed over its management to his son Andreas Bödecker (* 1958) .

Bödecker belonged to the Zollernkreis founded in 1969 by Hans-Joachim Schoeps and Louis Ferdinand von Prussia at Hohenzollern Castle . In 1992 he became a member of the Prussian Historical Commission .
