history
Weberbank was founded by the bankers Hans Weber as general partner (80%) and Georg Michaelis as limited partner (20%) on September 10, 1949 as a KGaA . Banker Hans Weber worked mainly outward. When the Berlin Stock Exchange reopened on March 11, 1952, Hans Weber became its first president. He died on July 2, 1966 in a riding accident. His son-in-law, Ehrhardt Bödecker , took over the management of the bank.
On January 1, 1994, the bank merged with Berliner Industriebank to form Weberbank Berliner Industriebank KGaA . The opening of the new bank building at Hohenzollerndamm 134 was accompanied by a speech by the Federal Minister of Finance Theo Waigel .
