Eigel Wiese (born June 6, 1947 in Hamburg ) is a German photographer , journalist and book author .

Life

Eigel Wiese completed an apprenticeship as a photographer in Hamburg. After serving as a contract soldier in the German Armed Forces , he worked as a photographer in France in the Atelier Artistique International in Seguret in Provence. He received journalistic training through a traineeship at the Bergedorfer Zeitung in Hamburg. Afterwards he worked as an editor at Weser Kurier in Bremen as well as at boote, petra and TV hearing and seeing in Hamburg. Wiese has been self-employed since 1992. His focus is on maritime topics in photos and texts. For seven years he worked as a freelance writer for the column "Ship reports" for the Hamburger Abendblatt . He still works as a freelance writer for the Hamburger Abendblatt. From 2003 to 2012, Eigel Wiese was a visiting lecturer at the Bundeswehr Leadership Academy.
