Einar Fróvin Waag

Einar Fróvin Waag (born June 29, 1894 in Klaksvík , Faroe Islands , † June 6, 1989 ibid) was a Faroese master brewer, entrepreneur ( Föroya Bjór ) and politician of the Social Democrats ( Javnaðarflokkurin ).

Einar was the son of Karin Helena Katrina, b. Hansen, from Tórshavn and the brewer Símun Fredrik Hansen (Símun í Vági) from Klaksvík. His first marriage was to Elisabeth, geb. Olsen, from Vestmanna and then with Anna Malena, b. Joensen, from Sørvágur . His son Einar Waag junior now runs the family business, which is the largest brewery in the Faroe Islands.

1943–1947 Waag was a member of the Klaksvík City Council and 1950–1954 a member of the Faroese Parliament, the Løgting . 1968–1969 he was chairman of the Faroese Social Democrats.
