A must is a district of the municipality of Saal an der Donau in the Lower Bavarian district of Kelheim . Until 1972 it formed an independent municipality.

location

Einmuß is in the Hallertau about four kilometers south of Saal and about as far west of Hausen .

history

Friedrich II. Von Wittelsbach , the brother of the Count Palatine and later Bavarian Duke Otto von Wittelsbach , bequeathed, among other things, the estate in Muß to the provost Ernest through the hand of Albert von Schierling in his will on the occasion of a pilgrimage to Jerusalem in 1167 .

The community of Einmuß, formed in the 19th century, belonged to the Kelheim district court, then to the Kelheim district office and finally to the Kelheim district. In 1938 it was enlarged to include the dissolved community of Schambach. As part of the regional reform in Bavaria on July 1, 1972, the municipality of Einmuß was incorporated into the municipality of Saal an der Donau.

Attractions

  • Expositurkirche Maria Immaculata. The beginnings of the Gothic choir tower date back to around 1300. In 1650 the collapsed tower was rebuilt. In the course of a general overhaul begun in 1719, a new stucco ceiling was installed, especially in the nave. In 1842 the church was extended to the west. In 1882 the church tower was given its current tower bulb as a cover. In 1923 the church was again expanded to the west.
