Einshoch6 ( proper spelling : EINSHOCH6 ) is a Munich band that was founded in 2004. The band combines German-language hip-hop with influences from classical music - drums, bass, piano, violin, cello and DJ provide the musical basis for various MCs and singers. Einshoch6 is mainly on stage with classical orchestras.

history

Shortly after it was founded in 2004, Einshoch6 was able to win various music prizes and performed, among other things, as a late-night band in the Thomas Gottschalk Show on ORF as part of the Salzburg Festival . The group received the “Star of the Year” from the Münchner Abendzeitung and became “Hope of the Year” from the Süddeutsche Zeitung. EINSHOCH6 was Germany finalist in the international band competition Emergenza.

The Munich composer Marco Hertenstein has accompanied the group's musical development since 2006 and has been arranging the band's pieces for symphony orchestras ever since. In autumn 2006 Einshoch6 played for the first time with the Munich Radio Orchestra under the direction of Jac van Steen in the sold-out Munich Prinzregententheater .

In March 2007, the German Music Council invited the band, together with around 70 European musicians, to perform a world premiere by the contemporary composer Moritz Eggert , various ensemble pieces and their own works all over Europe at the European Ensemble Academy - including in Berlin and Lisbon , Zagreb, Ljubljana, Brussels and Rome.

At the end of April 2007, Clemens Ostermann died suddenly and unexpectedly. The band decided to continue making music together after Ostermann's death.

In mid-2007, the album Jenseits der Norm was released , produced together with the Munich Radio Orchestra.

In 2008 engagements followed at the Beethovenfest Bonn (together with the Minguet Quartet), the Klangvokal Festival Dortmund (with the Dortmund Philharmonic), at the Mozart Festival in Würzburg (with the Athaneum Quartet of the Munich Radio Orchestra), at Nachsommer Schweinfurt and other renowned classical music festivals .

Einshoch6 has been working with the Deutsche Welle editorial team since 2012 . A new, so far unique project for German learners all over the world was created: the “Band Diary”, which went online from summer 2013. With 13 songs, the album Let's talk and 53 video clips, the group presented their music and their own personal image of Germany.

In July 2013 the band played together with the Württemberg Philharmonic in Reutlingen in the new Reutlingen town hall . The concert was recorded for a live DVD production. From November 2013 Einshoch6 was on tour in more than 20 countries, played concerts for German learners and gave workshops for schoolchildren and teacher training courses on the subject of "Music in Class".

In May 2014 the band played with the Freiburg Philharmonic Orchestra .

In 2015 the album "Die Stadt springt" was released with the producer Timothy Auld together with the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the release concert took place in the sold out Munich Philharmonic. The Munich rappers Boshi San and Roger Rekless featured the album in the song "So it should always be". This was followed by collaborations with other German orchestras, including the Babelsberg Film Orchestra and the Merck Philharmonic. From 2013 to 2016 the band toured several countries and reached almost a million music and German enthusiasts live and online.

In 2016 the band played together with the Munich Symphony Orchestra at the Deutsches Theater in Munich.

In 2017 the second album for learners of German - "Reise um die Welt" - was released on a major US tour in October and November, with more than 15,000 fans in 18 concerts. With the single "Pack es an" Einshoch6 becomes part of the political teaching concept at Bavarian secondary schools. Einshoch6 will be working on the Move Art XChange project with the Brandenburg State Orchestra in Frankfurt until 2019.

In 2018 Einshoch6 performed with the Bern Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Kevin John Edusei. The band is restructuring itself and developing the live program "If you are stupid, let him stay outside", which will be performed for the first time with the Munich Symphony Orchestra in the summer.
