A one -piece or one-piece suit is an item of clothing that covers the upper and lower body in one piece, i.e. does not end in the area of the belt line and thus (visually) connects the lower and upper body. In the strict sense of the word, a dress or a coat would also be a one-piece. In common parlance, dresses and coats are not considered one-pieces.

One-piece ends at the bottom more like a trouser, i.e. H. as trouser legs or in slip-like form .

In other words, one-piece suits are one-piece suits, as opposed to two-piece (e.g. tracksuits) or three-piece (e.g. classic three-piece men's suit). Suits are ensembles of clothing that are designed as a uniform overall appearance and not as freely combinable elements (individual items of clothing).

Tight-fitting one-pieces are often made of elastic fabrics to ensure a better fit even during extreme physical activity (e.g. football, dance or artistry). One-pieces ( overall ) are also suitable for protection against dirt, extreme temperatures and hazardous substances .
