history

From 1798 to 1814, when the Palatinate was part of the French Republic (until 1804) and then part of the Napoleonic Empire , Eisenbach was incorporated into the Canton of Kusel . Then the place changed to the Kingdom of Bavaria . From 1818 to 1862 he was a member of the Kusel Land Commissioner ; from this the district office Kusel emerged. In 1928, Eisenbach had 139 residents who lived in 22 residential buildings. The Catholics belonged to the parish Remigiusberg at that time , while the Protestants belonged to that of Neunkirchen . From 1938 the place was part of the district of Kusel . After the Second World War , Eisenbach became part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate within the French occupation zone . In the course of the first administrative reform in Rhineland-Palatinate, Eisenbach was incorporated into the neighboring municipality of Matzenbach on June 7, 1969 .

Together with the neighboring town of Matzenbach, Eisenbach owns the Eisenbach-Matzenbach train station on the Landstuhl – Kusel railway line . A former cultural monument on site was a side-by-side house from 1801, which has since been demolished.
