ESBO expires in front of the Burgstraße stop on the Weinheim – Heidelberg railway line

It deals with the same topics as the Railway Building and Operating Regulations (EBO) and also refers directly to them in some places. The ESBO also deals with the special features of narrow-gauge railways. The aim of the regulation is to ensure that railway systems and vehicles are designed in such a way that they meet the requirements of safety and order . These requirements are deemed to have been met if the railway systems and vehicles comply with the regulations contained therein in particular and, insofar as the ESBO does not contain any express regulations on certain aspects, with the recognized rules of technology in general.

prehistory

On the basis of Section 1 (3) of the BO of July 17, 1928, the Reich Minister of Transport issued the Railway Construction and Operating Regulations for Narrow Gauge Railways (BOS) on June 25, 1943 . Like the simplified railway building and operating regulations for narrow-gauge railways , they came into force on August 1, 1943. After the introduction of the Railway Construction and Operating Regulations (EBO) in May 1967, it was replaced.
