Zlonice is a railway junction not far from the town of Kralupy . It is located on the former Prague-Dux Railway . From here there are railway lines to Louny , Slaný and Roudnice nad Labem . Today the railway lines only have the character of local railways, every two hours a train arrives at Zlonice. The Railway Museum is located in the former boiler house of the Prague-Dux Railway, on the adjacent tracks of the railway station and in a private building on Nadrazni Bahnhofstrasse . The boiler house was used until the end of the steam locomotive era to station locomotives for the adjacent local railways, and later for sliding locomotives for freight trains. With the replacement of steam locomotives by diesel locomotives, the boiler house was no longer needed from 1981 and was closed for the time being.

From 1982 the Klub historie kolejové dopravy Praha (KHKD) established itself in the heating house Zlonice and worked here several locomotives, such as B. the 354.7152 or 422.002 . After the KHKD left the boiler house in 1994, a railway museum was established here in 1995. Several historically very valuable factory locomotives, railway wagons and security systems from the kkStB and ČSD times are kept in the two-tier locomotive shed .

The exhibition shows several exhibits of works locomotives of various gauges, which can also be seen in running condition on visiting days. A total of several steam and diesel locomotives, some of which are operational, historical passenger and freight cars as well as railway accessories can be seen in Zlonice (status 2009). The most important exhibit at the exhibition is an inoperable diesel locomotive of the V36 series , which ran from 1945 to 1957 as T334.004 for the ČSD , from 1957 to 1999 as a works locomotive in Roudnice nad Labem .

Visiting the museum without prior appointment is possible from May to September, in even weeks from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Otherwise, guided tours are possible by prior arrangement.
