Winter at the Eisenganz (1934)

Eisenganz is a disused treasure trove in the Johanngeorgenstadt mountain area in the Saxon Ore Mountains .

history

In the upper valley of the Steinbach, at the Sauschwemme and at the Auersberg , several treasure troves have been operated since the 16th century to mine the iron stone inflow that extends in this area . One of these was the Eisenganzfundgrube, which was muted on September 8th, 1609 by Michael Grünbeck. The former hut house between Sosaer Straße and the Auersberger houses near Steinbach near Johanngeorgenstadt still exists today. It was increased in 1946 and is now used for residential purposes.
