The Ejin Banner is a banner in Alxa , a federation in the far west of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China .
It has an area of 114,606 km² and has a population of around 20,000 (2004). Its main town is the Dalai Hub community ( 达 来 呼 布 镇 ).
The Juyan site ( 居延 遗址 , Juyan yizhi ) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (3-209) since 1988 .
