Ekaterina Stratiewa ( Bulgarian Екатерина Стратиева ; in another language transcription and mostly in German sources as Ekaterina Stratieva born on 5. October 1982 ) is a Bulgarian automobile - racing driver ; she is particularly active in rallying , but occasionally also in mountain races . In 2019 she completed her 100th Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) automobile rally . The highlights of her career were winning the women's championship at the FIA 's European Rally Championship (ERC) in 2014, 2015 and 2019. Ekaterina Stratiewa began her international rally career in 2006, for the first two years with her co-driver and compatriot Rumen Manolow in a front-wheel drive Citroën Saxo VTS. From the 2008 season up to and including 2017, she used a Citroën C2 R2 or C2 R2 Max. With her new Romanian co-driver Carmen Poenaru, she was sixth in the European Rally Championship in 2012 and third among the participants with two-wheel-drive vehicles. In 2013, Stratiewa won two special stages of the ERC and 39 of the women’s category, which led to two overall victories and the vice-championship title for women, initially with her new Italian co-driver Veronica Boni, and most recently with her former Romanian partner. She earned her first women's title in the ERC in 2014 by competing in two of six events with a Subaru Impreza STi N12. The following year, the Hungarian Julianna Nyirfás was her co-pilot; She achieved her second women's title in the European Rally Championship by winning 39 special stages in seven events, mostly on a Citroën , one each on a Subaru and a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX. In 2016, she was able to compete in the Barum Czech Rally Zlín in the Czech Republic with her Citroën alone : 57th place overall was enough to win the women’s ranking at this event and fourth place in the European rally championship for women.
