El Bocho (* 1978 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German street art and graffiti artist. He keeps his identity a secret. The artist lives and works in Berlin .

Life

El Bocho studied graphic design and then worked professionally with typography and poster art . A few years ago he moved from Frankfurt am Main to Berlin. Since 1996 he has been working anonymously in the graffiti and street art area in public spaces . His works can be found all over the world, but especially in his adopted city of Berlin.

The artist works with canvas, chalk, illustration , installation , posters, paste-ups , stencils , stickers, tape art , tiles, photography and videos. However, there is a focus on paste-ups.

Works

Little Lucy, Berlin

He uses as a stylistic elements Characters . The figures are always the same. Little Lucy and her cat, taken from the Czech series Luzie, the horror of the street from the 1970s. Lucy maltreats her cat, but it survives all murder attempts. He developed this variant of the series himself. It shows his black humor.

Kalle and Bernd , two talking surveillance cameras that observe and comment critically, can often be found in Berlin.

Tina Berlina . In 2014 he developed Tina Berlina. She gives the tourists tips.

His romantic nature is evident in the sometimes very large portraits of women in Pop Art style, who often express their love for their city with sayings.

In 2009, for the Urban Affairs Extended exhibition , he created what was then the largest outdoor tape art picture at the empty Berlin Stadtbad Wedding.
