El Dorado Springs is a small town in Cedar County in the US state of Missouri in the United States . It had 3593 inhabitants at the 2010 census , making it the largest city in the district. Her name is mostly abbreviated to El Dorado .

The city is located on US Highway 54 , which runs east-west , in the northwest corner of Cedar County, in southwest Missouri, in close proximity to St. Clair Counties and Vernon Counties . The city was founded in 1881 by the brothers Nathaniel and Waldo Cruce . They found that the water had a high mineral content and could be marketed as medicinally valuable .
