The Elbe-Weser aktuell (EWa) is a regional, weekly advertising paper from Cuxhaven , which first appeared on January 12, 1995.

The Elbe-Weser Verlag has been part of the Rieck Media Group since 1999, and thus the newspaper . The newspaper is printed in the Rieck printing house in Delmenhorst .

On February 1, 2019 , EWA Elbe-Weser-aktuell-Verlag GmbH & Co. KG filed for insolvency at the Delmenhorst insolvency court . After the insolvency proceedings, senior staff took over the publishing house under the name EWa Verlag GmbH. The managing director in Cuxhaven has been Michael Fernandes Lomba since July 1, 2019.

Around 66,000 issues were distributed in 2017. The newspaper also has a smartphone app .
