history
In the vernacular common name Albrecht locks stems from the emergence of the two buildings Albrechtsberg Castle and Lingnerschloss ago, on behalf of Albrecht of Prussia were built. All three properties were built in the period 1850–1861 on the site of the former Findlaterchen vineyard.
Since the Elbe castles were a centrally located and representative part of the Dresden Elbe Valley World Heritage Site (2004–2009), the World Heritage Center was set up in 2007 in the middle of the three (the Lingner Castle) .
Location, parks
The Elbe castles are located on the hill on the right bank of the Elbe, about 3 km upstream from Dresden city center between the Saloppe waterworks and Dinglingers Weinberg (after Johann Melchior Dinglinger ) not far from the Blue Wonder . The properties are designed as parks in the English style and form terraces on the Elbe side, some of which were or are used for viticulture .
The parks of Albrechtsberg Castle and Lingnerschloss (Villa Stockhausen) are freely accessible during the day via several gates on Bautzner Straße near the “Elbschlösser” stop ( tram line 11) and via a gate on the vineyard of Lingnerschloss to the Elbe Cycle Path . The parks of Schloss Albrechtsberg and Lingnerschloss form a unit. In contrast to the other two palaces, the park and Schloss Eckberg are privately owned. Therefore, the park is reserved for the local restaurant and hotel guests.
