Carl-Henning Pedersen
Carl-Henning Pedersen (born September 23, 1913 in Copenhagen , † February 20, 2007 in Frederiksberg ) was a Danish painter .
Pedersen was self-taught , he received his artistic training from 1933 from Else Alfelt (1910–1974), who later became his wife. In 1948 Pedersen was one of the founding members of the Parisian artist group CoBrA , whose name was formed from the first letters of the cities of Copenhagen , Brussels and Amsterdam , from which the founding members came. Pedersen's painting of the Ripen Cathedral from 1982–1987 is well known.
Works by him can be seen in the Cobra Museum ( Amstelveen , Netherlands).
In 1969 he received the Henrik Steffens Prize . On September 5, 1974, Pedersen was knighted first class of the Dannebrog Order . In 1976 the Carl-Henning Pedersen & Else Alfelts Museum was established in Herning .
Carl-Henning Pedersen was 93 years old.
