Elemér Balázs Group

The Elemér Balázs Group is a Hungarian jazz band that was founded in 2000 by the drummer Elemér Balázs .

The band was awarded the Fonogram Prize in its home country in 2005 and has participated in European jazz festivals (e.g. Vienna, London, Berlin, Hague, Prague, Pressburg, Skopje). Her style is characterized by the contrast between the male and female singing voices. The group is difficult to pin down on a specific jazz style, as the Elemér Balázs Group often cites and incorporates musical motifs from different cultures.

Elemér Balázs
Elemér Balázs, the founder of this jazz band, has been active in the Hungarian jazz scene since the mid-1980s. He played in the group “No-Spa”, was a supporter of Trio Midnight and drummer of the Creative Art Ensemble . Since 1995 he has created several solo albums and in 2000 founded the Elemér Balázs Group .
József Balázs
József Balázs is the brother of the band's founder. He made his debut on his brother Elemér's album My New Way . He won the second prize in the Gábor Balogh Füsti jazz competition and the "Best Soloist Prize" in the Jazz Juniors competition in Krakow.
Márton Soós
Dávid lamb
David Lamm, born on March 2, 1978 in Budapest, studied with Gyula Babos in Budapest from 1993 until he was admitted to the Franz Liszt University in Budapest in 1999. In addition to his music projects, he played in several theater productions. After being a member of many Hungarian jazz groups and gaining experience in various jazz styles, he founded his own band in 2004 before joining the Elemér Balázs Group in 2006.
András Dés
Trained as a classical drummer, András Dés played in various ensembles of Hungarian folk music before he began recording jazz albums and was accepted into the Budapest Jazz Orchestra .
Gábor Winand
Gábor Winand is the singer of the Elemér Balázs Group. In addition to several guest appearances with other jazz formations and artistic collaboration with his wife Elsa Valle, who interprets Cuban jazz, he produces solo albums.
Klára Hajdu
After five years of training in jazz singing in Szeged, Klára Hajdu studied at the Székesfehérvár Jazz Conservatory. In 2001 she won first prize in the Sony Music talent competition and in 2007 graduated from the chair for jazz music at the Franz Liszt Music Academy.
