BMC Records is the record label of the Budapest Music Center , which trombonist László Gőz founded in 1996 as a music information center and event forum in Budapest .

history

The label BMC Records was founded in 1998; the catalog has now exceeded 200 publications. It initially published Hungarian artists from the fields of contemporary classical music and jazz. Works by Béla Bartók , György Ligeti , György Kurtág , László Vidovszky , Peter Eötvös and other composers have been recorded by interpreters such as Pierre-Laurent Aimard , Adrienne Krausz , Gábor Csalog or the Ensemble Modern .

In the field of jazz, in addition to the repertoire of Mihály Dresch , Elemér Balázs , Gábor Gadó , Jazz + Az , György Szabados , Béla Szakcsi Lakatos , Gábor Winand or Mihály Borbély, there is also that of Hans Lüdemann , Archie Shepp , Daniel Erdmann , Aki Takase , Michiel Braam and Joachim Kühn entered.

Over the years BMC Records has been able to promote international recognition for a number of Hungarian artists and a successful collaboration between Hungarian and international musicians, e.g. B. initiated by Miklós Lukács and Michael Schiefel . The label manager is Bognár Tamás.
