Jazz + Az

Jazz + Az was a Hungarian music group that stylistically moved in the areas of pop , rock , jazz , soul , funk and rap .

Band history

The group was formed in the second half of the 1990s. The core formed the singer Péter Geszti and the three singers Dorottya Behumi , Orsolya Kozma and Eszter Váczi . They were supplemented by the rhythm section with electric guitar , electric bass , keyboard , percussion and drums as well as wind section with trumpet , saxophone and trombone .

The group's first recording was made in 1997 as music for the film A miniszter félrelép . The following year, Jazz + Az recorded their first album Kalózok as music for the film of the same name. In 1999 the group recorded the CD Egynek jó . The texts of the compositions came almost exclusively from the singer Péter Geszti, the saxophonist and composer László Dés was in charge of the music . All of the group's albums were published by Budapest Music Center Records ( BMC Records ).

Jazz + Az toured Hungary and gave a concert in the sold-out Kisstadion in Budapest in 2000 . Although the group only existed for a few years, they are still very popular in Hungary and their music is regularly heard on the radio there. The best-known titles of the group include Csepp a tengerben , Ma jól vagyok and Süss fel nap! . In 2011 the group reunited for a concert at the Sziget Festival .
