Lajos Gyenge

Lajos Gyenge (born January 1, 1970 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian drummer .

Life

Gyenges musical education began at the age of ten when he received drums lessons from Iván Nesztor at the Postás Music School (Ferenc Erkel Music School) in Budapest . In 1989 he moved to the Franz Liszt Music Academy to continue his studies in jazz for two years . Since 1985 he has been active as a drummer in a wide variety of groups. He plays different styles like blues , pop , rock and jazz. Gyenge worked with Charlie , László Dés , György Ferenczi, Tamás Hevesi, Hobo, Jazz + Az , Tamás Takáts, Bea Tisza, Martina Király and Eszter Váczi , among others . As a permanent member of the ESP Group , he recorded the three albums Waiting (1995), Colors (1999) and Night Sounds (2001). In 2000 he played at the farewell concert of the Jazz + Az group in the sold-out Kisstadion in Budapest.

He has also taken part in numerous theater and musical productions such as The Rocky Horror Show , Jesus Christ Superstar , Fame , Little Shop of Horrors and Godspell . He also took part in various commercial and film music recordings.

As a sought-after studio musician , he can now be heard on over 40 albums.
