Anna Brunnemann
Anna Elisabeth Brunnemann (born May 6, 1865 in Meißen ; † May 7, 1926 in Dresden ) was a German author.
Life
She was the daughter of the Saxon mining scientist and later director of the State Porcelain Manufactory Meißen Horst Brunnemann (1836–1911). After attending school in Meißen, she studied modern philology from 1904 at the Technical University of Dresden, among others with Georg Treu . She made a name for herself as a linguist, translator, essayist and novelist. She adored Ellen Key and was friends with Katharina Scheven .
In 1894 she was one of the founders of the Bismarck women's association in Dresden and in 1904 she became a member of the Dresden legal protection association. Anna Brunnemann earned lasting merit by organizing the publication of the Bismarck yearbook for German women, which she published alone as successor to Wilhelm Streit from 1922 until her death in 1926. In addition, several works were translated from French into German.
She died one day after her 61st birthday in Dresden.
