With the Swiss juniors she took part in the junior European championship in Turkey. In 2013 she was voted the best Swiss player in the league ("Best Swiss Player"). In the same year she took part with the national team at the European Championship in their own country, but Switzerland did not win a game and was eliminated after the preliminary round. In 2014 Steinemann moved to the German Bundesliga club 1. VC Wiesbaden . In Wiesbaden she played her first season as a professional and met the coach Andreas Vollmer , who had brought her to Schaffhausen at the time.
