Eleni Torossi

Eleni Torossi (born April 7, 1947 in Athens ; married Eleni Torossi-Brinkmann ) is a German writer . She became known both as a writer and through radio contributions .

Life

Torossi left her homeland during the military dictatorship and has lived in Munich since 1968. There she studied political science at the School of Politics . She began to write for Bayerischer Rundfunk in 1971 and wrote reports and cultural contributions.

She was best known for her radio plays for children. She writes stories for children and adolescents on the topics of "Living abroad" and "Living with strangers". Her first novel, Dance of the Squids , was published in 1986.

Eleni Torossi writes both in German and in Greek and in 2006 with the Civis - Europe's Media Prize for Integration of ARD been excellent. On May 5, 2009 she was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for her services in the context of intercultural mediation .
