Elin Fredsted

Elin Fredsted (* 1953 in Jels ) is a Danish linguist .

After graduating from Haderslev Katedralskole in Haderslev , Fredsted studied Nordic and German at the University of Aarhus from 1972 to 1980 . From 1979 she worked at the Nordic Institute at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, initially as a lecturer for Danish and from 1985 as a lecturer until she passed an exam as an interpreter and translator in 1989 . Three years later she moved to Flensburg for the first time , where she worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Regional Research and Information from 1992 to 1994 . At the Handelshøjskole Syd , today Syddansk Universitet , Fredsted appeared as an external lecturer (1993–1995) and research fellow (1995–1996). In 1996 she got the Ph.D. in linguistics, then took a position as a research assistant at the Sønderborg campus of Handelshøjskole Syd and took over from 1997 to 2000 as a lecturer ( associate professor at the Syddansk Universitet) at the Institute for Business Language and Communication , where her commitment to cross-border Study of cultural and language mediator was valid.

Since October 2000, the Dane has held a professorship for the Danish language at the European University of Flensburg , where she participated in the establishment of the Center for Small and Regional Languages (KURS) in 2014 . Elin Fredstedt has a son (* 1983) and a daughter (* 1986).
