NGC 4596 is a 10.4 mag bright lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 / a in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 82 million light-years away from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light-years in diameter . Presumably it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair together with NGC 4608 . She is listed as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster under catalog number VCC 1813 .
