NGC 4592 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type SD in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 44 million light years from the Milky Way and about 20,000 light years across. 
The galaxies NGC 4632 , NGC 4541 , NGC 4642 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on February 22nd, 1784 by the astronomer William Herschel using his 18.7 inch mirror telescope.
