NGC 4605 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc / P in the constellation Great Bear . The dwarf galaxy is about 11 million light years away from the Milky Way and belongs to the M81 group , one of the closest galaxy groups to us .

It was discovered on March 19, 1790 by the German-British astronomer Friedrich Wilhelm Herschel .
