NGC 4630 is a 12.5 likes bright irregular galaxy of Hubble type IBm in the constellation Virgo . As part of the Virgo Galaxy Cluster, it is about 30 million light years from the Milky Way.
It was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on February 2, 1786 with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, which found it to be matt, quite large and a little lighter towards the center ( faint, pretty large, a little brighter in the middle , “F. , pL., lbM. ”).
