Elin Rosseland (born April 5, 1959 ) is a Norwegian jazz singer and composer.

biography

Elin Rosseland was trained at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo from 1980 to 1984 , where she now teaches. After completing her studies, she sang in her quintet Fair Play from 1987 to 1990 with Tor Yttredal , Vigleik Storaas , Johannes Eick and Trond Kopperud . After several years of engagement in the fusion band Søyr (1986-1994), she formed the vocal trio ESE between 1995 and 1999 together with Sidsel Endresen and Eldbjørg Raknes . Rosseland also played in a trio under the pianist Christian Wallumrød and the bassist Johannes Eick. She received the Norwegian NOPA Prize in 1996 for the recording of the Fra Himmelen trio . In 2004 she recorded the CD Moment under her name with vibraphonists Rob Waring and Johannes Eick . She plays in the Elin Rosseland Trio with Rob Waring and bassist Mats Eilertsen . In 2006 she took part in the performance of the Peer Gynt Suite by Edvard Grieg , which Helge Hurum arranged for Big Band at the Oslo Jazz Festival . In 2009 she was awarded the Radka Toneff Minnepris .
