Elisabeth Charlotte von Anhalt-Harzgerode (born February 11, 1647 in Harzgerode , † January 20, 1723 in Østerholm Castle on Alsen ) was first Princess of Anhalt-Köthen and then Duchess of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Norburg by marriage .

Life

She was the daughter of Prince Friedrich von Anhalt-Harzgerode and his first wife Johanna Elisabeth von Nassau-Hadamar . She was initially married to Wilhelm Ludwig von Anhalt-Köthen from 1663 , became a widow in 1665 and married August von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Plön in 1666 .

In her second marriage, she had the following children:

⚭ Juliana Luise, Princess of East Friesland (1698–1721)

After the death of her second husband, she lived at the widow's residence at Østerholm Castle on Alsen . In the dispute over the legality of Christian Karl's marriage and his son's ability to succession, she was one of the supporters of her daughter-in-law and former lady-in-waiting Dorothea Christina.
