Elisabeth Dreisbach
Elisabeth Dreisbach (also: Elisabeth Sauter-Dreisbach ; * April 20, 1904 in Hamburg ; † June 14, 1996 in Bad Überkingen ) was a German educator , missionary and writer .
Life
Elisabeth Dreisbach completed - interrupted by a serious illness - training as a kindergarten teacher in Königsberg and Berlin . She then worked in the field of social work. Later she attended the training school of the Salvation Army - to which her parents had belonged - but then switched to the Evangelical Church in Württemberg , for which she worked in the areas of internal mission and evangelism . After the end of the Second World War , Dreisbach founded a home for refugee children in Geislingen an der Steige , in which 1500 children were cared for over the years. Dreisbach last lived in Bad Überkingen .
In addition to her social and missionary work, Elisabeth Dreisbach was the author of numerous novels and stories - some for children and young people - which were shaped by the author's social commitment and Christian faith .
