Elisabeth Hammer

Elisabeth Hammer (* 1954 ) is a German singer and songwriter of Christian music and director of the Brettheim Children's Choir .

Life

Together with her husband she first founded the youth choir "Of Sing", where she directs the music theater today, and later the Brettheim children's choir, which today exists in two age groups. She writes many of her songs together with her husband Hans-Gerhard Hammer , who was pastor of the Evangelical parish in Brettheim until 2013. With him she also began her commitment to Christian children's music with the Brettheim Children's Choir, which to date has recorded more than a dozen productions, in addition to song collections, singing games and musicals.

Elisabeth Hammer became known in the Christian music scene in the 1980s with her debut album I know me safe , published by the Liebenzeller Mission publishing house . This was followed by other albums such as No half things and Weitergehn as well as a Christmas concept under the title My most beautiful Christmas carols .

Private

Elisabeth and Hans-Gerhard Hammer have four sons named Thomas, Matthias, Markus and Johannes and live in retirement in Großaltdorf (Vellberg) . With the House of Music and Encounters in Brettheim , the Hammer family also realized their idea of ​​a leisure location for Christian music and community.
