The publishing house of the Liebenzeller Mission (short: VLM , also: VLM-Verlag ) was the in -house publishing house of the Liebenzeller Mission .

The publishing house was founded in 1906 and published works by its employees, such as the autobiographical trilogy Experiences of a China Missionary by Elisabeth Seiler . Other authors are the ethnologist Lothar Käser , the theologians Helmuth Egelkraut , Thomas Eisinger , Alfred Gajan , Heinzpeter Hempelmann , Jürgen Schuster , Klaus-Dieter Mauer , Klaus W. Müller , Lienhard Pflaum , Ernst Vatter , Fritz Grünzweig , David Jaffin , Heiko Krimmer , Rainer Riesner , Elmar Spohn , Walter Tlach , Hermann Traub , George W. Peters , Peter Beyerhaus , Paul Humburg , Ernst Modersohn , Paul Murdoch , Johannes Zimmermann and the writer Heidi Schmidt .

In the 1980s, the publishing house began to publish children's radio plays, music productions with Thomas Eger and Brigitte Herbster as well as live recordings of lectures by influential Protestant preachers and evangelists such as Wilhelm Busch under the label VLM . In particular, Elisabeth and Hans-Gerhard Hammer and their Brettheim children's choir became known through numerous successful children's musicals.

Arthur Klenk was the publishing director for many years. In 1991 the publishing house was sold to the then Johannis-Verlag in Lahr / Black Forest and continued there under the independent label Edition VLM . Today, the Liebenzeller Mission bookstore (SCM Shop) is one of the largest Christian bookstores in Germany at the Bad Liebenzell location .
