Thomas Eger (singer-songwriter)
Thomas Eger (born July 26, 1951 in Augsburg ) is a German pastor and author of new sacred songs .
Live and act
Thomas Eger grew up in a Christian family. From the age of eight he received piano lessons. He decided to study at the theological seminary of the Liebenzeller Mission after spending a year in social missions there. After graduation, I worked for two years as a youth officer in the Pforzheim City Mission. He then became a community pastor in the Liebenzeller community association (LGV) in the Heilbronn district. Later he was commissioned to work on the editorial team of today's association magazine “together • believe • live” of the LGV and the Liebenzeller Mission. From September 1997 Eger worked again as a community pastor of the LGV, initially in the Karlsruhe district and from September 2008 until his retirement in July 2015 in the Backnang district.
Thomas Eger has been writing songs since 1973 and is best known as the author of New Spiritual Songs such as Sing with me an Hallelujah or Thank You, Lord Jesus . He was also a pianist in the music group Team of the Liebenzeller Mission and accompanied Brigitte Herbster on the piano.
Private
Thomas Eger is married to his wife Ruth. The couple have three children and live in retirement in Monakam near Bad Liebenzell. As the Eger family , they appeared in 1995 on the children's album More Than Just an Adventure by producers Jochen Rieger and Margret Birkenfeld alongside the Wetzlar children's choir .
