David Jaffin (2014)

David Jaffin (born September 14, 1937 in New York ) was a Jewish writer, is a German preacher , Protestant pastor and author who has written numerous works in English , New Hebrew and German .

Life

David Jaffin was born in 1937 as the third child to a Jewish lawyer and a Jewish housewife and mother .

After leaving school he spent in New York, he studied at the New York University first historians and later art history and psychology . During this time he married his wife Rosemarie on September 14, 1961. His studies, he graduated in 1966 with the promotion of Dr. phil. from. He also won the highest prize at his university, the Founder's Day Award, twice . At this time he was already active as an author: by the end of his studies, Jaffin had written a total of ten volumes of poetry , a selection of which was even published in Hebrew and English in Tel-Aviv .

In 1971 he converted to Christianity . That year he also traveled from the United States to Germany . First he moved to Ottobrunn near Munich before moving to Belsen near Tübingen . A short time later he began studying Protestant theology in Tübingen, supported by a grant . He finished this in 1974. Because he had not been able to identify with the subject until then, he wanted a more practical application of his faith.

In the same year he finally accepted a position as vicar in Tübingen , which he held until 1975. In 1975 he finally took a position as second pastor in Magstadt near Stuttgart , which he held for four years until 1978.

He then went to Malmsheim, only five kilometers away, as a pastor . Here he remained a pastor for 16 years until his end of service in 1994. During this time he also became a member of the state board of the Evangelical Collection in Württemberg . He also received a teaching position at the theological seminar of the Liebenzeller Mission in Bad Liebenzell .

Since then he has been active to a large extent as a preacher at major events and as the author of numerous books .
