Elisabeth Schwarz (* 1984 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian opera , operetta , oratorio , lied and concert singer with a soprano voice .

Life

In 2002, Schwarz passed her Matura at the Musisches Gymnasium in Salzburg. She began her vocal training in 2003 at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz . Her singing teacher there was the Austrian chamber singer Joanna Borowska-Isser , formerly a member of the Vienna State Opera . She also attended master classes with Sylvia Geszty (2005) and Helga Müller-Molinari (2005). She graduated with honors in 2009.

She sang her first opera roles in university productions at the Graz University of Music: Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro (2004/05 season) and Zerlina in Don Giovanni (2005/06 season). In the 2005/06 season she was a member of the opera studio of the Graz Opera . At the Graz Opera she appeared in the 2005/06 season as Papagena in Die Zauberflöte and as Komtess Stasi in the operetta Die Csárdásfürstin .

Since 2007, Schwarz has made guest appearances in the field of soubrette and coloratura soubrette at various Austrian stages. Since 2007 she has performed regularly at the Franz Lehár operetta festival in Bad Ischl , in 2007 as Adele and Ida in Die Fledermaus , in 2008 as Arsena in Der Zigeunerbaron and in 2009 as Wed in Das Land des Smiles .

She has made guest appearances at the Landestheater Salzburg (2007/08 season, as Christel in the operetta The Bird Trader ) and several times at the Stadttheater Baden in Baden near Vienna . There she sang Hannerl in the operetta Das Dreimäderlhaus (2007/08 season), Hanni in Frühlingsluft (2008/09 season), Sandmännchen / Taumännchen in Hansel and Gretel (2009/10 season), Pepi in Wiener Blut ( 2009/10 season) 10) and the Cosette in the musical Les Misérables (summer 2011).

In the 2008/09 season, Schwarz made his debut (as a guest) at the Vienna Volksoper in the role of Princess Mi in the operetta The Land of Smiles . She has been a permanent member of the ensemble there since the 2009/10 season. Her roles there include Olympia ( Hoffmann's stories ), Blondchen ( Die Entführung aus dem Serail ), Adele, Antonia (in Antonia and der Tissue Devil , pop opera by Christian Kolonovits), Wed, Papagena, the gypsy girl Frasquita in the opera Carmen , Esmeralda ( The Bartered Bride ), Teresa ( The Wonder Theater ) and Barbarina ( The Marriage of Figaro ). In the 2010/11 season she sang Juliette Vermont for the first time in the operetta Der Graf von Luxemburg (from January 2011) and took over the Countess Stasi in a new production of the operetta Die Csárdásfürstin (from April 2011).

In summer 2012, Schwarz made his debut at the Salzburg Festival ; under the direction of Nikolaus Harnoncourt she sang Papagena in the opera Die Zauberflöte . As Papagena she was also seen at the Opéra Bastille ( Paris ) in 2015 .
