Elisabeth Stoffels

Elisabeth Stoffels , also Elise (born October 30, 1872 in Ruhrort ; † January 27, 1943 in Bonn ) was a German teacher and politician ( center ).

Life

After attending the "Catholic Secondary School for Daughters" in Ruhrort, Stoffels attended the Royal Teachers' Seminar in Xanten and worked from 1891 to 1917 as an elementary school teacher in Ruhrort, from 1905 on in Duisburg-Ruhrort . After taking the rector's examination in 1913, she took up a job in 1917 as a rector at a girls' elementary school in Neuss . Since 1917 she was the second chairwoman of the Association of Catholic German Teachers (VkdL) and founder of the VkdL elementary school committee.

Stoffels was a member of the Center Party. She was a member of the Prussian State Constitutional Assembly from 1919 to 1921 and was then a member of the Prussian State Parliament until 1933 .
