Elisabeth Vietje

Elisabeth Vietje (born May 11, 1902 in Hanover ; † May 2, 1963 there ) was a German educator and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending the lyceum in Hanover and the upper lyceum in Duderstadt , Vietje was qualified to teach lyceums, middle schools and elementary schools in 1922. She then worked temporarily in an external occupation. She was later unemployed until 1929, took up a job as an intern and assistant teacher in 1930 and was given a permanent position in 1939. From 1939 to 1952 she worked as a mentor at the practice school of the Hanover University of Education . In 1952 she became provisional headmistress, had been rector since 1953 and worked from 1958 to 1960 as a high school teacher at the St. Ursula girls' high school in Hanover.

Political party

Vietje joined the CDU in 1945 and was later chairwoman of the women's association of the CDU regional association in Hanover. She was also a member of the Lower Saxony regional committee for cultural policy .

MPs

Vietje was a council member of the city of Hanover in 1945/46 and from 1948 to 1954. She was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1957 and from May 6, 1960, when she replaced the deceased Member of Parliament Adolf Cillien , until her death. It was always drawn into parliament via the Lower Saxony state list.
