Elisabeth von Pfalz-Zweibrücken (* 1469 ; † June 23, 1500 in Saarbrücken ) was Countess of Nassau-Saarbrücken by marriage .

Life

Elisabeth was the youngest daughter of Count Palatine and Duke Ludwig I of Zweibrücken (1424–1489) from his marriage to Johanna (around 1435–1504), daughter of Antoine I de Croÿ , Count of Porcean.

The underage princess was betrothed to Count Johann zu Solms-Lich in 1482 , who died in Egypt in 1483 on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Through negotiations by the Archbishop and Elector of Mainz Berthold von Henneberg , she was betrothed to Count Johann Ludwig von Nassau-Saarbrücken (1472–1545) in 1487 , whom she married on January 29, 1492 in Meisenheim .

Elisabeth died at the age of 31 and was buried on June 25, 1500 in the collegiate church of Sankt Arnual . A funeral ceremony was held on July 16, 1500 in the Weilburg collegiate church .
