Elisabeth von Wedel-Bérard , full name: Wilhelmine Emilie Elisabeth Countess von Wedel-Bérard (* December 27, 1848 , † September 18, 1905 in Lörrach ), was a German writer.

Elisabeth Countess von Wedel-Bérard ("the beautiful Countess Wedel") was between November 24, 1879 and February 1884 with Major Hermann Graf von Wedel (born June 29, 1839 in Oldenburg (Oldb), † July 22, 1909 in Lausanne), a brother of Wilhelm Johann Ludwig von Wedel and Karl Leo Julius Fürst von Wedel . A scion of this connection was possibly the musician Carl Joachim von Wedel (1879 Hanover - 1952 Norwich), who had lived in Australia since 1904 and was naturalized in England in 1934.

From 1886 she lived in the shared apartment of Reza Khan Geranmayeh Moayyedossaltaneh , the Persian envoy in Berlin. During this time she corresponded with Wilhelm II (German Empire) . Five of the autographs made in this context inspired her when writing her literary work:

  • From the catacombs !! Historical love events of my ancestors. Caesar Schmidt, Zurich 1901.
  • My relationship with SM Kaiser Wilhelm II: the truth about Count Waldersee! / Dreyfus rehabilitated by WE Elisabeth, divorced Countess von Wedel-Bérard. Caesar Schmidt, Zurich 1900.

After the divorce, she took her maiden name again, emigrated to Switzerland and published her work. From the marriage, which she led with Alexander Schlarbaum between 1887 and 1890, two children were born.
