Elite grave
Elite grave (also pompous grave ; outdated: princely grave , also aristocratic grave , royal grave , chief grave ) is an archaeological term that describes a burial place that is particularly prominent for different epochs of prehistory and early history - by means of outstanding equipment of grave goods, with above-average effort prepared grave complex.
The term elite grave has replaced the scientifically controversial term princely grave in archeology since the mid-1970s , since the term princely grave for prehistoric and early historical graves makes a scientifically unprovable statement about a social structure. The term is used, for example, for outstanding Germanic graves, but it is also used for burials from other cultures .
