The FC Eiserfeld (officially football club Eiserfeld eV ) is a sports club from the Siegen district Eiserfeld . The first soccer team played as RSV Eiserfeld for three years in the highest Westphalian amateur league.

history

The club was founded on January 1, 1906 as the Eiserfeld youth football club and was called FC 06 Eiserfeld from November 26 of the same year . In 1920, after a 2-1 victory over TV Eintracht Siegen, they were promoted to what was then the first-class district league in South Westphalia . There the Eiserfelder had no chance and were relegated from bottom of the table . During the 1920s, departments for athletics and handball were founded, so that the club was renamed the Eiserfeld lawn sports club . After the end of the Second World War , the RSV Eiserfeld merged with the Eiserfelder Turnverein to form TuS Eiserfeld . In 1949 the two clubs separated again.

In 1952 the Eiserfeld champions of the district class Siegerland, but failed in the promotion round to SuS Hüsten 09 and VfL Gevelsberg . A year later, he was finally promoted to the state league , which at the time formed the highest amateur league in Westphalia. There the team always fought against relegation. In the 1955/56 season , the RSV did not rise despite the last place only because in the course of the introduction of the Association League Westphalia relegation in the state league was suspended. In the 1957/58 season Germania Mudersbach was beaten 10-2. A year later, the Eiserfelder were relegated from the state league. In 1960 and 1962, the RSV was runner-up behind VfB 07 Weidenau and SuS Niederschelden / Gosenbach before the team had to relegate to the district class in 1968.

Three years later, he was promoted to the district class before the RSV returned to the state league in 1976. This was followed by direct relegation, which was followed in 1979 by going to the district class. The promotion succeeded in 2000 when the RSV was able to defeat TSV victories on penalties in the playoff. Two years later the association split up for economic reasons. The footballers formed today's FC Eiserfeld , while the handball players continued to play as RSV Eiserfeld Handball . Since June 2014 this association has been called RSVE Siegen . After relegation to the district league A Siegen / Wittgenstein in 2009, he was promoted to the district league again in 2017.
